5 Tips for Enjoying Mangoes

Wow! What a variety of mangoes!?! IF I (Litsa) had to guess at such a crop of mangoes, I would have failed! Amazing to know that one fruit can produce so many different types! Now, to try them ALL!?! How long would that take!?!

You and I may not have the opportunity to taste test so many different types of mangoes but we can make the MOST of MANGOES this season! Here are just five tips that Whole Food’s The Whole Deal shared for making the most of mangoes:

1. Drink UP. Raise a glass to mango smoothies, aguas frescas, lassis, sparklers and sangrias.

2. Wedges Are IN! Cut into wedges and sprinkle with chili powder or serve with a dollop of whipped topping.

3. Complement YOUR Condiments. Give marinades, sauces, chutneys and salsas tropical flair; try tropical cheese toasts and more!?!

4. Seek the SALE. One of the sweetest, smothest varieties, the Ataulfo, is in season around now…watch for special prices!

5. Stretch the SWEETNESS. Use in recipes such as Mango Tea Bread (www.wholefoodsmarket.com) or a whole grain salad to get the most out of every sweet bite.

Mangoes are the perfect fruit to pair with vegetables when you are juicing! Thus, if you find a SALE and you love fresh juices, GO MANGOES!
