Mary Engelbreit’s artwork, calendars, books and more have been masterpieces of inspiration for me (Litsa) for years! I love her vivid and unique creations. They draw me in instantly.
This advice, “Be You, Not THEM!” was recently featured on Mary’s Facebook Page. It will be part of her 2015 Mary’s Mottos calendar collection—–simply adorable and well stated!
How often do you need to remind yourself and/or your children to be themselves—-to be TRUE to YOU!?!
I enjoy being me.
I think differently. I react differently. I question myself many times throughout the day but at the end of the day, I’m glad that I’m me.
I don’t have to be “them”. I can’t live to be “them”. Who is THEM!?!
Them I am not:
- The mom that volunteers for every classroom activity and/or brings goodie bags to every.party.all. year. long!
- The mom that buys boutique clothes to impress her friends/colleagues.
- The mom who buys birthday gifts on credit for friends/family.
- The mom that competes with friends and covets what others have….
Them!?! I am not them. I am I. We have to make choices to be ourselves—–to embrace who we are and plug into a source that fuels us for us….ourselves, our families, our world….
We all have something GOOD to give. We have to make good choices—exhibit kindness, count the joy around us, and allow ourselves to flourish right where we’re planted.
Only then can we grow!?!
