A variety of bottles fill grocery shelves with vinegar—-red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, etc. The purchasing pivotal point is………..
Well, it depends on what you are purchasing the vinegar for—-will you cook with it, create a science experiment with it, or…….? Maybe you just want to use the many bottles of vinegars that are stored away in your pantry.
Currently, I’m using one bottle of red wine vinegar for creating the perfect dressing for Greek salads. However, one bottle of red wine vinegar has been poured into a mini jar for mosquito bites. Growing up Greek, my parents (Litsa’s) and their family members always said to douse new insect bites with red wine vinegar. For me, this home remedy works. The vinegar takes the itch out of the bite. Then the bite disappears without getting infected or large & itchy! Try it.
White vinegar is used to create vinegar based slaw recipes at my house but I recently used a half a cup of white vinegar to clean paintbrushes. The vinegar helped to loosen the dried, caked-on paint. It also pulled up candle wax from the side of a glass, candle jar. The vinegar broke down the residue without damaging the surface.
So how are bottles of vinegar used in your household? Are there any home remedies that steal the show for this ordinary, everyday household staple?
