It is that time of year to start thinking about summer travel plans. I encourage you all to start researching now. We are taking a mini vacation this weekend to Williamsburg. I did a lot of research and bought tickets to the attractions online. The attractions offered a discount if the tickets were bought in advance online. I also purchased gift certificates for eating out at Restaurants.com.

Vacation Planning Tips

  • Rent a place that offers a kitchen or kitchenette. We plan to eat breakfast and lunch in our room. Since it is vacation, I do insist we eat out for dinner! I by gift certificates at Restaurants.com when they are on sale for 80% off. We also pack snacks and drinks to bring with us. Buying snacks really adds up quickly.
  • Start looking at the deal of the day sites like Groupon for the area you are traveling to. Many times these sites will offer great discounts on restaurants and activities.
