My mom is the ultimate crafter. She can turn just about anything into a decoration! I strive to be like my mom but for now I will let her share some of her crafts with you all! She was so sweet to take pictures for me, write up the instructions and email them to me.
Tin Can-o-Latern
Tin Cans From Canned Goods
Sharpie
Water
Awl
Hammer
Spray Paint
Candle
Clean out saved tin cans. Draw the face with a sharpie pen. Make the face simple squares and triangles for easy hole punching. Fill with water and freeze solid. You need the ice inside to make the hole punching go easier and to keep from crushing the can.
Punch out the face with an awl and hammer. When you have punched all of the holes, run the can under hot water to melt ice. Thoroughly dry the cans.
Spray paint the cans both inside and out. My mom sprayed the cans bright orange and then applied a light coat of metallic copper. Let the paint dry and then place a votive candle inside.
These look great sitting out on a deck or lining your driveway. I think you could also do other holidays too! Maybe a simple star or tree!
Check out the rest of my Halloween ideas!
Thanks Mom!
