denim and scarves

Who is looking forward to jean jackets and scarves for the fall!?! I (Litsa) have always loved layering clothes since I tend to get too hot and/or too cold! Autumn is the perfect season for layers——and jean jackets and scarves are wonderful accessories for any season’s wardrobe!

If you’ve scurried through any of your late summer and/or fall magazine issues, you too must have noticed that denim is everywhere this fall! And scarves—-haven’t they always been a timeless accessory!

I started my own collection of scarves when I saw the many, many colors and textures of scarves hanging in my cousin’s bedroom! I loved the hues and the materials of each one. Every scarf is a statement piece to any outfit

But filling our closets must begin with the family budget—-pencil in a budget for new clothes in each month’s budget plan! However, use the word ‘new’ loosely and shop around for the BEST deals! Find clean and orderly thrift stores and/or yard sales to filter through with your ‘new’ wardrobe money.

Thrift stores are filled with denim. Look for jean jackets, jeans, jean button ups, and more—-and don’t forget to look for scarves to layer on top of your ‘new’ denim. Last week while visiting a local Goodwill store, I noticed a beautiful brown/pink hand knit scarf in the dressing room. It was stainless and perfect. It also looked great on me. Priced at $1.99, the scarf was a deal but I did leave it behind. I was specifically looking for capri and shorts during this visit (and we must stick to our plans/budgets if we want to be successful—right!?!—dressy capri pants for $2.25 made the cut).

Visit thrift stores this fall for your denim & scarves—-two thrifty finds that fill the racks in thrift stores!
