My grandmother loved sweets. My mom loves sweets……and I (Litsa) love sweets! Does a sweet tooth run in your family too!?! Combating which sweets to bypass as the new year’s goals are set…..!?!
Prevention magazine’s tidbit this month (January 2015) reminded me of what I already do. Dr. Ross was quoted, “I have a sweet tooth, so I created a healthy daily dessert: Take a slice of toasted whole grain bread, slather it with 1 tbsp of almond butter, and top with sliced banana, blackberries, a drizzle of melted dark chocolate and ground flaxseed. It satisfies cravings while providing protein, omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, potassium, and tons of antioxidants.”
Don’t forget too that when you are craving something sweet, that the earth’s fruits are the sweetest too. Just top them accordingly…..
These apple slices were topped with caramel and chia seeds—walnuts too!
