Winter keeps us guessing this year—-ice, sleet, freezing rain, and/or fluffy, white snow!?! Today in West Tennessee, we woke up to many, many inches of snow. I’m not sure just how many but let’s just say that our outdoor picnic table and patio chairs were clothed in new cushions—-and the soles of my boots disappeared into the layers of fluff!
We drove around town—and country roads enjoying the scenery! As we found snowmen, we stopped to great them and one taunted, “Aren’t you going to make snow cream!?!”
Snow Cream——at forty, I (Litsa) had never had snow cream!?! So I wasn’t sure what to mix but the snow-friend said, “You have vanilla, sugar, and milk!” And we had SNOW in abundance for the south…..
One little girl outfitted with measuring cups was sent out to gather snow to create SNOW CREAM FOR TWO:
- 4 cups of fluffy white, untouched snow
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- Combine all ingredients.
- Serve immediately.
Whisk it all together and split between two—-unless there’s others present that want a scoop too! (We added sprinkles to one batch! A pop of color on vanilla, white snow cream elicits fairy tales about unicorns!?!)
For every half day of snow, REPEAT and EAT snow cream as you savor the memories you’re creating!
