slow cooker beer brats

March is here and that means one thing to many people, college basketball! While the weather might not always cooperate for grilling for the games, you can always rely on this brat crock recipe! In fact cooking your Johnsonville Brats in a slow cooker is great when hosting a party. Simply turn the slow cooker to low to keep the beer brats warm throughout the game. That way company can easily go back for second or thirds with never worrying about the brats getting cold!

beer brats ingredients

The ingredients for this slow cooker recipe couldn’t be easier. Just pour a couple of beers in the slow cooker with some chopped onion and a little butter. The beer is the perfect liquid to slow cook these brats in!

brown brats

Before you add the Johnsonville brats to the slow cooker, brown the brats over medium heat in a skillet. Browning the brats sears in the flavor and gives the brats a nice look. Once the brats are browned on all sides, add them to the beer mixture in the slow cooker.

Now all you have to do is wait for it to cook for two hours! Look at those brats floating in a warm bath of beer and onion! It smells so good while they cook.
