Are you enveloped in seasonal gratitude this season!?! There a millions of reasons to feel grateful:
- Healthy children
- Another day
- Beautiful fall leaves
- A pantry full of goods
- Time to cuddle on the couch
- Outdoor time, walking
- Something to read
Whatever your own personal list may entail, acknowledge the multitude of reasons you are grateful—big and small! Maybe it’s easy to do around Thanksgiving Day or throughout the months of November and December but feeling grateful is a gift you should give yourself every day. IF you do, you just may put yourself on an expressway to better health!
Real Simple (November 2014) noted in an article, “There is a magnetic appeal to gratitude,” says Robert Emmons, a professor of psychology at the University of California, Davis, and a pioneer of gratitude research. “It speaks to a need that’s deeply entrenched.”
Do you have a full time gratitude ritual? Or do you simple say THANKS or smile? Not that a hasty thank you and quick grin isn’t optimal to put pep in your step…
A ritual changes us for the better. It makes us conscious to our interconnectedness to that which we are thankful for in our days. According to the list in Real Simple, here’s how:
- You’ll feel happier.
- You’ll boost your energy levels.
- You get healthier.
- You’ll be more resilient.
- You’ll improve your relationship.
- You’ll be a nicer person.
Give joy a try this season—-graciousness in gratitude. Start with seasonal gratitude and allow the new trend in your life to keep you ground in gratitude throughout 2015.
