I have talked about how to best handle rebates before in my Coupons 101 series. Since there are several rebate forms currently available right now, I thought it would be good to mention it again. For me, I have to fill out the rebate as soon as I return from the store with the receipt. Otherwise, it is pretty unlikely I will get it in the mail.

To get the most out of your money and time, use your coupon binder to help you organize your rebate forms. When you see a rebate form posted online, print out the form if you think you will take advantage of the rebate offer. This will save you from having to look for it again. Next, take a few minutes to fill out the address section of the form (or you can use an inexpensive address label to stick right on the form—add in your email and phone number and you are finished). Insert the rebate form and a business sized envelope into a page protector in the back of your coupon binder.

To keep track of your rebates, print out a Rebate Log (PDF File). Log the rebate on your rebate checklist. When you purchase products that require the UPC code, cut the code out or write it on rebate form as soon as you get home (before you put up the items and forget about keeping the UPC). IF you need the receipt, staple it (with a mini stapler) onto the rebate form itself (reinsert into your binder, if you need additional receipts, etc.).

Prior to mailing the rebate form make sure you have all information current on your log. Additionally, you may want to make a copy of your receipts and rebate form for your records.

Check out all of the rebate forms I have posted to get you started!
