IF you are in close proximity to a Kroger, you may want to SAVE A DRY POMEGRANATE. They are still tasty inside and they’ll save, save, save you money. It’s the end of the pomegranate season. Thus, we won’t be seeing them in our Kroger stores. They are a powerhouse of antioxidants and are quite pricey to buy. However, if you look in the closeout fruit/vegetable section at your local Kroger, you may see two, three, or four more priced at only $0.99!!!
After buying your ‘dry or closeout deal’, don’t let your pomegranate sit for much longer at home. Set aside time to cut it open for your red bounty! You may have a few brown fruit along the peel. You’ll want to toss those. However, the rest of the fruit will be worth saving to eat with a spoon or toss in your salad and/or yogurt throughout the next two days or so!
I (Litsa) took a few minutes after dinner tonight to peel the dry pomegranate that my mom sent home with me after visiting my family in Georgia. These pomegranates were on sale at every Kroger store we visited while on vacation with family. As quickly as my mom could peel them, they were eaten!! So if you love pomegranates as much as our family does, save a dry pomegranate this season while they are still available!
Pomegranate pairs well on green salad topped with apple and seeds! Enjoy your pomegranate perfect salad today!
