It is such a busy time of year with shopping for gifts, parties, baking and preparing for family gatherings. The stores are busy and the lines are long. To reduce your stress, make sure to do a little preparation at home before you head to the grocery store.
Tips for Holiday Grocery Shopping:
- Find all of the recipes you intend to make. I lay out all of my recipes on the table and then make a list of the ingredients. Some ingredients will be called for in several recipes such as butter, flour, sugar and sour cream. Make sure to note the total quantity you will need for all recipes.
- Check your pantry and freezer before you go to the store. Check the expiration dates and make sure your spices and herbs are still useful. The herbs and spices should still have some color and be fragrant when the lid is opened.
- Pull out or print all of your coupons for products you will be purchasing. Having your coupons organized will save you a ton of time.
- Bring your patience with you! The stores will be busy and lines are sure to be long.
- Check your receipt before leaving the store. It is a rare occasion that I escape a whole day of shopping without an error on at least one of the receipts.
