It’s the month of green and luck with St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner. Martha Stewart Living had this cute little four leaf clover straw toppers in the March issue. Shamrocks fashioned from green card stock make for an instantly festive table. They are really easy to make! You could also make these into flowers for Spring.

How to make Shamrocks:

Cut green card stock into 5 inch squares.

Fold each square in half diagonally, creating a triangle, and then fold in half once more to make a smaller triangle.

Trim off outer points as indicated (curved cut, cutting off points). Cut one corner and then flip the triangle over to cut the other corner.

You should have two rounded corners after both cuts are made. Snip the very end of the last corner to create a hole for the straw.

Unfold shamrock, and crease diagonally, reversing the direction of the fold; repeat to make another diagonal crease. This makes a crease for the petals.

Slide cardstock shamrock onto one end of a green straw. Make a wish, and have a sip!

I also took some and placed a green pipe cleaner in the middle to use as decorations. Simple, inexpensive and fun for the kids!
