National Park Week

National Park Week starts April 16, 2011. That means free admission to 394 National Parks! If your kids are on Spring Break this next week this is a great opportunity to see some beautiful sites in the country!

The National Park website has a National Park locator to find parks near you.

April 23, 2011 is National Jr. Ranger Day– offering kid friendly events and a chance for your child to earn a junior ranger patch! There are several National Parks that are offering the Jr. Ranger Program.

Have you visited any National Parks recently?

  1. We just got back from Zions! Tell you what, this free deal is great. Zions is actually $25, even if you are just driving through (It’s actually along a state route road).
If you go….take the bus, and bring the map! I find National Parks notorious for poor sinage. We totally got diverted because of the trail being washed out…ended up having to scout down a sand cliff and traverse a smaller meander of the Virgin river! It was supposed to be a 1k lesiurely stroll and ended up being over a mile and a half with cranky little kids! But I can’t wait to go back!
