The toy catalogs have been popping up in the Sunday paper the last couple of weeks. Since we have no idea what we are getting the boys this year, I decided to let them browse the catalogs. I figured this would keep them busy and I would get an idea of what they want.
When the boys returned the catalogs to us, almost every item was marked! We explained that we wanted them to pick the items they wanted most. Our little chat didn’t seem to register as they continued marking with a Sharpie.
As the boys watched cartoons and a commercial came on we could hear them saying “Oh, I got that” and “I ordered that” and “I want that” and “that’s on my list”.
Hubby and I panicked! They actually think they are getting everything in the catalog! WOW!
So, everyday since the catalog markup day, we have been reminding the boys that just because they want something doesn’t mean they are getting it. Hopefully our pep talk will sink in sometime before Christmas morning! Otherwise they will be severely disappointed!
Note to self, next year don’t give the boys free reign on the toy catalogs!

I love it! At least, I’m not alone my toddler wants everything too! As does her mommy! Ha! Every time I want something, I use that money to pay medical bills! Oh! The thrill of material goods but what we all really need are the memories of being together! Mark up your want list too (big people catalogs) and give it to the boys. See if they can buy you everything you want!?! Just curious to see what they say…… Love these little children & their endless desires!
