When I shop at Kroger (and other store locations), I have been known to checkout in multiple transactions in order to save more money! Last night, I was reminded that shopping to save more money requires organization and focus!?!
I was organized but my attention was drawn away when someone came in to the store and started talking to me at the cash register!?! At the end of my third transaction, she mentioned that I was checking out separately. Yes! This may seem odd to others around you but it is quite acceptable to check out in multiple transactions.
Last night, I was splitting up my purchases in to three transactions in order to save more money:
My first transaction included the Puffs Promo (I wanted to get back $3 to use in my second transaction!).
Transaction#2-Dole Fruit Closeout (I wanted to make sure I spent $20 on my subtotal so that I had enough Dole products purchased to get $5 back in my SavingStar account!)!
Transaction #3 included my purchases for fruit/veggies for juicing.
My rewards for checking out separately were $8 of savings—(a $3 OYNO reward and a $5 SavingStar reward—AND I also received three Kroger surveys to fill out. Three employee names will be mentioned. They will each get $5.00—and I’ll get 150 gas points to use!). Additionally my Hog Receipt app will eat my three receipts—-giving back more rewards!
Slow and steady wins the race…..$15 for others and $8 for me + gas points ($) that I didn’t waste = $23+ earned back when I factor in all my rewards & those given to others!!
Do you use multiple transaction to make sure you are maximizing your savings?
