Hi all! I live in Louisiana and drive to the kroger in Alexandria (which is an hour drive one way). Our kroger no longer will combine the kroger card cpns with mfg cpns. I was curious if this would also include the cpns you download from SAVING STAR? ALSO, our Kroger now has changed it so you can only buy ONE sale item and use a cpn, this is just crazy especially when you are trying to buy like 5 banquet dinners on sale and you want to use a cpn for them or 8 chef boyardee ravioli and want to use a cpn for all 8………..has anyone else been having issues like this at their Krogers? If so, where is your Kroger located?

    • Hi RuthAnn!
The Saving Star coupons are different than the other ecoupons. You will not see a savings at the register. Once you save $5 from SavingStar you can request payment from them. So, yes you should be able to use both a savings star ecoupon and a paper coupon.

I have not heard of only being able to use one coupon on a sale item. I know some stores limit it to three of the same exact coupons per transaction. I would ask to speak with the store manager. That is just a crazy strict policy!

So sorry for the late reply! It has been a very busy week!

Thanks for explaining that to me! Now one more question about it though. Does it only “give you credit” for the stores you have store cards with or will it work at places like walmart also?

It is true about our Kroger limiting you to one sale item w/cpn. Now they will let you get three of any non sale items, but to get 10 cans of chef boyardee that was on sale the other day I had to check out 10 times! They wouldn’t allow you to do “multiple transactions”, I had to go out to the car, put my groceries back in the car and then come back in and reshop. It was utterly rediculous! And I had no idea the cpn policy had changed so I drove an hour to get there with my preplanned shopping list and had to revamp it all when I got to check out and they told me that rediculous policy.

I also kept all ten of my receipts and you can bet your bottom dollar I will filling out the survey on each and every one of those suckers! lol!

thanks so much for all you do.

    • Hi RuthAnn,
SavingStar works are stores like CVS and RiteAid too. I don’t think Walmart is on the list. When you signup for SavingStar you can enter your zipcode and it will tell you what the participating stores in your area are.

I am sorry your Kroger is so tough with their coupon policy. That is not the corporate Kroger policy although store managers have the right to override the corporate policy. It really makes no sense because a coupon is like money. The store looses nothing by allowing you to use a coupon. Well, except if the coupon doubles. The double portion of the coupon is usually the stores loss.

Anyways, I hope the SavingsStar program works out for you!
