resistance bands

Resistance bands are an easy tool that you should integrating into your workout routine. Not only are resistance bands affordable but there are so many uses for them. They are great for rehabilitation when injured and for sports conditioning. With a variety in levels of resistance, these bands can be used by beginners as well as athletes.

Resistance bands work by placing tension on the muscles. They require more stabilization from your body which means you will work more muscle groups while using them. We recently started training with resistance bands in our karate workouts. Using resistance bands will make for stronger and faster movements. The idea is to train using the band to create tension- which makes it harder to perform techniques. When you are not using the resistance band and you do the same techniques, you will be able to explode at a greater speed since the band isn’t creating that tension.

ankle resistance bands

Ankle resistance bands are very new to me. At first, I found them difficult to maneuver in. However, by the second training session I learned to like them. I could feel my glutes, hips and quadriceps burning. Resistance bands allow you to utilize more muscle groups when training. Even though I had done these same techniques previously, I could feel smaller muscles working.

A good way to integrate the ankle resistance bands into a workout routine is using the agility ladder. You can do the same footwork drills on the agility ladder with the resistance bands. The result will be faster footwork plus increased strength!

Resistance bands are widely available at most retailers and of course on Amazon!

  1. Hi there Renae, nice share there. I haven’t really used resistance bands but I have seen people using them. I didn’t really know why or where I am building with them, so thanks for enlightening me. So, are there different types or which ones should I choose? Thanks in advance.
