It’s probably not a big surprise to you that food prices are on the rise globally. A study was just published by Worldwatch Institute stating that global food prices rose 2.7 percent in 2012. With the seemingly increasing severe weather in the United States, I don’t see the prices getting any better either.
The most interesting part of the article to me was the cereal prices. Due to severe drought in the United States and Eastern Europe, global cereal prices rose 12.3 percent in 2012. Yes, we rely heavily on farmers for grains and produce and sometimes mother nature is of no help. So when you see a good buy on cereal, make sure you stockup!
Are you noticing your grocery bill increasing even though you are using coupons and money saving strategies?
