For the last few years I have done our taxes myself using an online program. Last year I used the H&R Block At Home program which was very easy to use. It walks you through the process step by step. I did have an H&R specialist look over our tax return after I completed it just to double check a few things. I plan to do the same thing this year too.
There are two tax programs available online that offer free federal filing. With both programs you will have to pay for filing state taxes online.

I plan to use H&R Block again since I can import information from last year to make the process go a little faster! Now on to organizing my paperwork- urgh!
