Food manufactures are deceiving. Food packaging has fallen prey to marketing. Walking through the grocery store you are sure to find packages with bold print saying “low fat“, “no-added sugar“, “reduced calorie” and “no fat“. But do those statements mean the food is healthier?
No!
In fact in some ways I think the opposite is true. Take a look at the labels of the products that advertise “low-fat” or “reduced calorie”. Most of these products have ingredient lists a mile long.
I think one of the biggest misconceptions is “no fat”. Did you know marshmallows have no fat? It’s true but that doesn’t mean that they are healthy for you! Marshmallows are full of sugar which your body will translate into fat!
The point is, just because a label makes claims that it is a healthier product, doesn’t actually mean that it is good for you. Instead of looking at the marketing on the package, look at the ingredient list. Remember to try to stick with as many whole foods as possible.

This is SO TRUE!!! I’m sharing this now on my facebook wall and in my Plexus private group. I’m sure so many people who don’t know better and are trying to get healthier and/or lose weight fall prey to food labels. :(
