Day 2 Rev Your Metabolism:
Eat Chili Peppers. Capsaicin, the compound that makes peppers hot, can boost your metabolism by more than 20%. Eating lean protein like chicken and turkey can use seven times more energy to digest than consuming fat or carbohydrates.
Drink a Glass of Water. When your body doesn’t have enough water, your metabolism slows down.
Do Strength-Train. Doing so builds muscle, which helps you burn more calories. Do resistance training at least twice a week for 15 to 20 minutes.
Adding a little heat to your diet, drinking more water, and working in resistance training will all rev up your metabolism. It isn’t hard. Keep bottled water and/or water containers close by. When you think about eating, drink water. If you pass by a glass of water and take a drink each time you do, you’ll be more apt to fill up more on water (or start your day with Lemon Water). Eat when you are hungry. Adding peppers to hummus, salads, sandwiches and more is easy. Just do it. Head for the spice rack if peppers are missing from your refrigerator!
