Making homemade frosting is a lot easier than you think! It takes just a couple of minutes to whip up this cream cheese frosting recipe. Add food coloring to make the desired color of your frosting.
Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

Ingredients
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- (1) 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Food coloring (whichever color you desire)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients (powdered sugar, cream cheese, butter, vanilla and dye of choice) to the bowl of a stand mixer. Attach bowl & flat beater attachment and mix on speed 2 for 30-45 seconds. Scrape bowl with spatula increase mixer speed to 6 and mix for an additional 2 minutes or until smooth and creamy. Chill for 5 minutes in the refrigerator before frosting cupcakes.
