There are many different ways to organize your coupons. It is really a personal preference on what works best for you. I currently use the binder method. That means I organize my coupons into categories in baseball card sheets in a 3 ring binder. I find that have the coupons spread out into many categories makes it easy to find coupons quickly. The one draw back is it takes longer to set up the system and stuff the coupons into the sheets. Once you have the system in place, it is pretty easy to keep up though.
To help you organize your coupon binder, here is a PDF document with Coupon Organizer Divider Sheets. The dividers can be three hole punched and placed in your binder to divide the baseball card sheets into sections. You can then breakdown the organization further if you like. For example, I have a divider that says “Stock the Pantry: Coupons for Dry Goods”. Within that section I will break down the baseball card sheets to have a pasta page, canned goods, coffee/tea, etc.
Think about how you can make your coupons easy to access. At the bottom of each baseball card sheet I have a label with the category. I can easily thumb through the sheets to find the category. The clear sheets makes it easy to visually see what coupons you have in that category.
I have multiple coupons in each pocket of the baseball card sheet. If I have multiple coupons of the same brand, I will stack the coupons in the same pocket. Usually I try to place the coupon that expires first on the top of the stack.
