Printable coupons are becoming more and more available. While having access to coupons is a good thing, there are some things you should know.

The Good

  • Most printable coupons can be printed two times for each computer. After you print the first coupon, click your browsers back button and refresh the page. You should be able to print for a second time. On some occasions, coupons can be printed more than two times.
  • Manufacturers offer high value printable coupons. Sometimes, there are better printable coupons than those found in the Sunday Coupon Inserts.

The Bad

  • Printing coupons cost money. I did get a whole case of paper for free last year using MaxPerks Rewards. I also order remanufactured ink cartridges instead of paying for a new ink cartridge. I found the extra large cartridges are the best deal! Play with your printer settings- use draft, black and white and change the font to Century Gothic.
  • Grocery stores can be picky about printable coupons. Some stores will not accept printable coupons for free products. Other stores limit the number of printable coupons that can be used in one transaction. It is important to know your stores policy so that you can best use your printable coupons.
  • Printable coupons sometimes reach their print limit quickly. Often times you will see a blogger post about a coupon only to find it is no longer available. On the flip side, it seems like some printable coupons are always available- such as Pillsbury Crescent Rolls!

What you should know

  • Printable coupons can not be photocopied. It is considered fraud to copy a coupon. It is fine to print the coupons via your computer and printer- but do not xerox them.
  • Printable coupons at sites like Coupons.com usually have a 30 day expiration date.
