Juices come in a variety of beautiful colors!?! If you are juicing and sharing your juices with your children, you may have found that they like particular colors and/or flavors! For instance, my little girl (Litsa’s) loves plain carrot juice or plain orange juice. She’s reluctant to have ginger in her juices because she wants “ginger cookies” instead!?! However, I have found that if I juice a blend of vegetables together for myself—beets, spinach, carrots, and ginger—I can usually get her to taste my juice. She may not drink ALL of it but she will take one or three drinks of my mixture!
Today, I tried a different approach! I juiced oranges for her and added 1/4 of my mixture of veggies to her orange juice! It turned the sunny, bright fresh orange juice to a mauve color but she drank all of it! So not only did she get her intake of Vitamin C, she also packed in the benefits of beets, spinach, carrots, and ginger without a fuss of it being “too…….gingery…not plain enough or…”!?!
It’s my goal to make sure that my daughter is constantly eating and trying new flavors and textures of food——especially juices that feed her body too!
What about you!?! Have your tried juicing with your children!?!
