Carrots come in orange, purple, and red varieties! Although ORANGE is by far the most popular color on the grocer’s shelves!?! I’ve eaten & juiced dozens of orange carrots but I’d (Litsa) would love to get my hands on a purple and red carrot (just for fun)!?!
Orange is spectacular though! It’s Tennessee’s color—for VOL football fans that is!?! Tiger Lilly’s are orange and sunsets have the hue embedded with them. However, that bold orange color isn’t just pretty—it’s what makes this root vegetable so GOOD for YOU!
Carotentoids, the anitoxidants that give carrots their pigment, may protect against heart disease, cataracts, and certain cancers. You should scrub carrots before juicing but there’s no need to peel them! Juice carrots with grapefruits—and/or lemons, ginger, oranges, limes!?! These juices are daily musts! No juicer!?! No problem: Use a blender instead. Puree the ingredients until smooth (adding a little water, if neccessary), then strain through a fine sieve.
Eat & drink your carrots!
