Whether your receipt box is all nice and tidy—-and decked out with the latest chevron print or just an empty shoebox with no specific pattern decoupaged on it……you still need one…
It’s a place to toss your receipts day in and day out when you are busy! But WAIT, before you toss in your receipts make sure you LOOK at each one carefully! Computers scan our purchases at Target, Wal-Mart, Kroger, Walgreens, and many, many other retailers!! IT is up to you, the consumer to protect yourself. Use your own scanner, your eyes, to double check prices.
At Kroger, the consumer is protected a Price Scan Guarantee Policy that you can read about here! Luckily, it protects me many, many times since I do 90% of our shopping there! By using it, I received free bags of lettuce—twice last week!?!
However, no matter where you shop, you must, must protect yourself by scanning over your receipt. The overcharges add up over a course of time. Don’t allow your money to be left in the retailers’ register drawers and deposited into their bank. Use a few minutes of your time to make sure it is deposited into your pocketbook/bank (if you are overcharged)!
If you’re not overcharged, should you keep your receipts!?! I do because you may need them for various reasons—-to return something after you thought it was safe to toss a receipt. A particular material might fade or not hold up like you wanted it too. Or there’s a malfunction in the item you purchased. Grocery receipts!?! You may use a current receipt to cash in on ibotta offer that pops up (within 7 day grace period), teach math skills to your children with them, price compare items—or….
Use this month to get in the habit of keeping all receipts for three months out of purchase date just in case you need them for one reason or another!?!
