It’s that time in West Tennessee—-the season of renewal. Our (Litsa’s) hydrangea plants are showcasing their beautiful new green leaves. These tiny little leaves grow each day—after every raindrop and the many rays of sunlight. It’s amazing to walk through the yard and watch their beauty emerge.
In addition to admiring the hydrangea plants’ leaves, I have begun cleaning the weeds and leaves from the flowerbeds that our hydrangeas reside in. Additionally, I’ve moved the bricks that I used last spring to spread our plants. By carefully moving the bricks over, I’m allowing the new roots to emerge and using another stem to spread onto the ground that I can place the brick over. This will allow for the hydrangea plant to continue to spread and grow.
Endless hydrangea blooms grace one side of our home. On the other side, we have lace leaf hydrangeas (these are the plants’ leaves that you see pictured above). I look forward to their blooms as I continue to learn more about hydrangeas and how their southern charm can continue to grace our home from season to season.
Their grace is inspiring to live among as they grow. My curiosity about them always blossoms alongside their journey.
Are you familiar with tending to hydrangeas where you live?
