Look at this beautiful Christmas red tool box! It’s on my Christmas list for one special little girl (Litsa’s daughter who is 4 and a half today)! Now, you may ask why a tool box! Well, you see her Daddy is a contractor. He builds houses from the ground up and works on many commercial projects too. She’s already playing in his tools scattered all around his shop, truck, etc. I’ve yet to find bugs in her pockets but I must say I have found nuts and bolts! Thus, I think she needs her own tool box that we’ll fill with special tools, nails, and more throughout the years. Each gifted item that will be added to her own tool box will have a special letter or blog entry as to why we chose a specific item that year. When she’s 18 or 30 leaving home, her tool box will travel with her. Each item within it will remind her of the Christmas’s past (or birthdays or even half birthdays) when she received them from her Dad/Mom—–and the knowledge of how each item can help her in her own home.
As she trailed off to bed, “Daddy, have you finished my doll house yet?” I didn’t hear an answer from around the corner and down the hall but I knew with such a busy schedule………As parents, we must remember that it’s the moments we spend together creating—–giving our children our undivided attention that matters this season!
How can you use your livelihood to help your child as you teach them the importance of it at an early age?
