Paying for parking at the airport can really add up. When planning our recent trip to California, I looked into alternatives to airport parking. The airport we flew out of was two hours from our home making it impossible for someone to drop us off.
What I discovered is that the hotels around the airport offer park and fly packages. They hotels have shuttles to and from the airport and they will keep your car during your trip. We ended up staying at Country Inn & Suites in Sterling, VA. They offered a one night stay with up to 10 days parking for $155. The overnight stay also made the preflight process less stressful since we were only a few minutes away from the airport.
Our stay at Country Inn & Suites was fantastic. The customer service was outstanding. They also offer a free breakfast with both hot and cold items. The shuttle to and from the airport went smoothly too.
It would have cost us about the same amount of money to park our car at the airport for the 10 days. But we would have been a lot more stressed driving the two hours the morning of the flight.
If you need to leave your car for upcoming trip, look into a hotel deal. I know my mom got about the same deal in California earlier this year through another hotel chain.
