Propane Shortages!?! You may have heard these words on the news. Frigid winter temperatures have been wildly scattered across the globe this year! As I (Litsa) have sat indoors most days with frozen toes or fingers in a HEATED house, I’ve forgotten about the crisis that can be all around me!?! I hear my husband. I ask him about work and listen to him prepare—-construct….line up for emergencies…
Yesterday, he had to ride out to client cabins to make sure they were secure for these temperatures. Checking waterlines….roofing systems….doors………and at one cabin, he found that their propane tank was out of gas. The water lines were not frozen. Thus, he guessed they had just run out of propane!?! One call—-and he’s on a five to seven day calling list……..waiting for propane.
Luckily, the clients do not live here permanently. It is a ‘vacation’ residence but the words ‘propane shortage’ buzzed on the television today and the Business Insider reports that millions are affected. One company in town that we work for is waiting….residents first, businesses second!?!
Business Insider stated “Supply is very tight. There is propane to be had out there, but there are supply and transport issues across the country,” spokesman Simon Bowman said.
Again this one statement reminds me that in the comfort of my life, the world around me revolves beyond my own needs/wants—comforts! There’s so much I find myself taking for granted and I pray tonight for those in the midst of this dilemma.
