I had hinted to you all that I was starting a weight loss challenge. Today was Day 1! Let me back track a bit.
I have always been a thin person. I am small framed and barely 5’4″ tall. Sports and outdoor activities have always been a part of my life, although I wasn’t on a regular workout routine. Over the last year I have slowly seen the scale ticking upwards. I have talked to hubby for months and months about how I needed to get in shape. By the way, hubby is fit and thin without even trying!
What I found was I didn’t have the energy to get up early and exercise. The snooze button was pressed more times than my feet hit the floor running. I started eating healthier- cutting out carbs, cutting back on sweets, only drinking water, eating lots of produce, etc. Do you know what happened? The scale still went up! How depressing!
During that time I started following my Aunt’s facebook posts. She had started the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge and felt terrific. She had energy and she was loosing weight. After several days of contemplation, I told hubby I was doing the challenge. I was scared out of my mind, but determined.
So today is Day 1 and I feel great! The 24 Day Challenge is made up of two concepts. The first 10 days are all about cleansing- releasing the toxins from your body so it’s able to accept the nutrition. The next 14 days are all about burning fat. The best part- it is not a starvation diet! I eat three meals a day plus two snacks made up of lean protein, vegetables, fruits, nuts, eggs and beans. A small portion of a complex carbohydrate is allowed at lunch. The idea is to retrain your body to eat the correct portions at the right times with the right type of food.
Now I almost cried when I saw the restrictions for the 24 days- no COFFEE, dairy, bread or sugar. This morning I had no coffee and I was so nervous I would get a headache from withdraw. Nope! I drank my Spark energy drink this morning and felt great all day! The only part that took a little effort today was downing the fiber drink this morning (part of the cleanse). It tastes okay, just a little weird in texture. I was also worried that the fiber would make me feel bloated. Hubby and I both tried increasing our fiber before eating Fiber Plus Bars and the bloating was terrible. I am happy to report that there was no bloating with the AdvoCare fiber drink.
I drank about 80oz. of water today which is over the requirement. Even though I was drinking water all day I still felt thirsty! I think I was just so dehydrated before that my body is loving all of the water!
So I have made it through day 1 with no ill effects, not starving and with plenty of energy.

The mixture aims to help your body reduce fat and improve body composition. Using AdvoCare Slim correctly may help you lose weight, but you must be 18 or older to use this product…

Thanks Jared!
I am sure weight loss will occur with the reduction of fat and the healthier body composition. Not to mention I will have the energy to actually workout now!
Only some of the products are for 18 years and older… a few of the products in the Performance Elite Line. Kids are drinking SPARK…younger kids get a diluted (1/2 strength) SPARK. If kids drink soda they can drink SPARK! There is actually an AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge designed for kids.
Advocare has many products, in fact most, that are suitable for children. Since all their products are medically tested (over 200 tests) I feel very comfortable to provide them to my kids. It’s good nutrition in a supplement form. My kids especially like “Citrizinc”, a delicious lemon flavored chew and ” Purple Champs”. Advocare “Snack bars” are another product that are great for the whole family and take the place of candy bars and cookies. With all the reports about child obesity, doesn’t it make sense to start your kids on good eating habits early?
I’m not a fad dieter, so I was a skeptic about Advocare for a long time.
