My friend Kelly over at Kansas City Mamas has a new weekly series called Thirsty Thursday. The mission is to feature good wines that are $10 or less. I love this idea since there are so many good wines out there that are inexpensive.
I usually like red wine, Merlot in particular. But today I am going to tell you about my all time favorite white wine- Chateau Morrisette Our Dog Blue. Just a warning, I am not a professional wine taster! I am not good at picking out all of the flavors and aromas that are usually listed in the description.
Our Dog Blue is a Virginia wine that my sister in law and I discovered a couple of years ago. It is our “go to” wine whenever we have a get together.
Retail Price: $8.99 to $9.99
Our Dog Blue is a white table wine. It is semi-sweet since it is a blend of Riesling, Traminette and Vidal Blanc. I like the fact that it is not overly sweet. It is sweet enough to make it smooth but not overly powering.
Our Dog Blue has a fruity apricot aroma. This wine pairs nicely with fish or chicken. I enjoy a glass of Our Dog Blue for dessert too.
Interestingly, Chateau Morrisette is still featuring the Christmas Our Dog Blue on their website. However, you can buy Our Dog Blue throughout the year with the non-Christmas label. I love the blue bottle too!
What is your favorite inexpensive wine? Make sure to head on over to Thirsty Thursday to see reviews of other wines!

I hope I can find this is Kansas – sounds terrific. We have such goofy liquor laws.
Maybe I can mail you a bottle sometime. Can wine be mailed to Kansas? I know some states won’t allow that.
Maybe we should each pack a bottle in our suitcases for BlogHer. :)
hi all!
We can do mail order to Kansas! You can get Our Dog Blue by ordering from our website. Here is a link to our website’s wine shopping section, where you can check out our other wines too:
