While we are enjoying unseasonably cool temperatures in Greece, I (Litsa) hear that it’s smoothie season back home in West Tennessee. Additionally, an old Prevention magazine packed in my luggage taunts, “Just Hit Blend”—-so I’m dreaming of the creamiest, healthiest smoothies to blend for the rest of the summer upon returning home.
When I arrive home, I’m sure that I’ll want to visit the local farmer’s market for the freshest fruits and vegetables for my smoothies. I’ll also enjoy my new Juice Plus product for my smoothies (I hope to share more about these products with you in the future!). All smoothie boosters always make the season’s fruit blends the perfect pair.
Blender organization is key to the perfect smoothie too. I hope to find some freezer space to pull together my own smoothie freezer bags for my favorite smoothies. In addition to creating smoothie baggies that jump start my favorite recovery smoothies (recovery from outdoor workouts, heat, mid-day slump, etc.), I’m always looking for new items to add to my smoothies.
Coconut water is one ingredient I’ve yet to try! Prevention says, “That it packs in more potassium than bananas and zero artificial anything. Coconut water is happy hydration the way nature intended.”
A smoothie that promises to be full of happy hydration and the season’s freshest produce (frozen is a bonus), won’t pack in only relief from hundred degree temperatures but nutrition too! I think I’ll take two….
Who’s enjoying summer smoothies this season?
