I (Litsa) can always remember having a white shirt in my closet! It was my go to outfit with jeans or slacks—and my server attire! I served tables at my parents’, friends’, and uncles’ restaurants. My white shirts were not only timeless but classy—and trendy among the many restaurants I’ve worked at while growing up! At forty, I’ve yet to lose interest in my love for a crisp white shirt! My favorite white shirt right now is ordered from Ann Taylor. It’s a button up and pairs well with jeans, my black pencil skirts, over tank tops, and even over a pair of boyshorts as I lounge around the house. I love mine! Once it’s worn in for the day, I machine wash it in cold water and hang it to dry. Then I press it with starch. Yep! It’s ready to wear again and again and again.
Lucky Magazine (February’s 2015 issue) notes five NEW ways to wear The White Shirt. Grab a copy of the magazine and look on page 45—you’ll have to own at least one white shirt! I’m excited that it’s “one of the season’s biggest trends” according to this fashion magazine. This notation will keep my eyes peeled for a few new favorite white shirts.
Lucky says that they are “loving a crisp oxford—the longtime wardrobe mainstay” because it’s already hanging in our closets!?! But beyond that, they rationalize that is “utterly versatile” for the entire year! I must agree—–and I think my six year old does too!
While we were recently out shopping, she picked up a white button up in a ‘just her size’ and said, “Look Mommy! A white shirt just like yours! We can both have one!” From this instance alone, I was able to discern how closely my little girl pays attention to what I wear….
Yes. I wear my WHITE shirt year round—and love it! And she loves it (or me) enough to want to have her own white shirt!?!
I might have to give in to that request if I don’t buy myself (or her) another fashionable trend that I saw nestled in my magazine: Metallic Slip-On Flats!

*Although I managed NOT to have blue icing all over my white top, I love that you can easily OXI clean and/or bleach out most stains from this timeless trend!
