Keep Old Cell Phone as a Backup

iphoneThe other day I was grabbing the boys snow boots off the deck when my iPhone fell out of my pocket into a little bit of snow. I picked it up, dried it and it seemed fine. About 15 minutes later I went to check my messages and the phone would not turn on! Uh oh!

I took a deep breath trying to hold back my panic. Here we were stuck at home in the snow and my phone is dead. We do not have a home phone. Hubby did have his phone but he would be taking it with him on his treacherous drive to work.

Then I remembered I had my old Droid. I got on chat with Verizon customer service on my laptop. It took about 15 minutes, but the awesome customer service rep was able to transfer my phone number to my old phone! What a relief!

The downside is, I have had my iPhone for almost 2 years and many of my contacts were not on my old Droid. I will have to work on recovering that data!

If you change phones, save your old cell phone and it’s charger for a backup. You never know when you will need it!
