You may have heard this news flash in the news—or read about it in your ALL YOU issue or…..Here it is:
“Standard 40- and 60-watt incandescent bulbs won’t be sold anymore after this month! For a comparable alternative, try halogen bulbs, which use roughly 28 percent less energy!” –reports ALL YOU December 2013 issue.
Hmm…….so where have I been!?! Not immersed in the news….
However, when I saw CLOSEOUT prices at Kroger on 60 watt bulbs….!?! Well, you guessed it! A light bulb went off….I placed ten boxes in my shopping cart. These boxes were priced at $0.94 so at $0.25 per bulb, I think my deal was great…………unless I’m not calculating electricity savings!?! But in due time, I’ll know………especially when the news media reports how “WE” can no longer buy these bulbs……..
Is a bulb stockpile worth it in your budget!?! Or……..
