A few years ago I learned my lesson while hosting a large family meal. At that particular event, I tried to make everything homemade. In the end I was completely overwhelmed and tires! Yes the food was good, but I didn’t enjoy the event as much as I should have since I was working the whole time. Now when hosting events I am much more organized. I pick recipes that are easy and I usually pick one “cheater” item. That means I usually pick one thing that is store bought to save me time and energy!
If you are hosting Thanksgiving this year, and need a “cheater” item, give Mrs. Smith’s Original Flaky Crust Pies a try. Better yet, if you need to butter someone up, give them a pie!
A survey from the makers of Mrs. Smith’s® pies called “The Butter Up Report” reveals that nearly six in 10 Americans admit they would do something to butter someone up for the holiday season, primarily to spread holiday cheer or set a good example for others. And more than three in four people (77%) say they have buttered someone up by being extra nice before asking for something.
The crust is truly flaky and buttery. Hubby enjoyed this Mrs. Smith’s Cherry Pie while the boys and I inhaled the Mrs. Smith’s Pumpkin Pie. There are six varieties to choose from in the Mrs. Smith’s Original Flaky Crust Pie line. Find out more about Mrs. Smith’s pie on their facebook page or follow them on twitter. There is a Butter Someone Up Giveaway on facebook through 12/10/13.
