Halloween Treats Bags + Savings Tips

Today, I assembled these adorable treat bags for my daughter’s preschool class without having to leave the house! I had everything I needed from previous shopping trips—some this week, last month, last year, and from several years ago! I pulled out a few items that I thought I would need and the finished project came together perfectly.

I wanted to share it with you just to show you that you can HAVE IT ALL too through the use of our posts that contain sales, coupons, promo codes, and more! With time and diligence, you too will begin to gather materials that you’ll have in your home to create Halloween Treat Bags and MORE! Don’t stress about having these items for this year’s celebration. It takes time to acquire items but you can do it and do it well on a budget by following our daily posts.

Note that the first five supplies I used were materials that I gathered from shopping trips after reading/sharing posts right here on the blog! This month, you may pick up three items from sales, discounts, & more. The following month, a few more. Then your stockpile will grow to help you have it all——and share with others near & far!

Halloween Bags: Dollar General $1 (bought for $0.10/pack of 20 last year)
Personalized Labels from Vista Print (bought for only price of shipping)
Personalized Tags from Paper Coterie (bought with $40 off promo code)
Candy–1 piece per bag ($5 off $20 Hershey’s Promo)
Dora Fruit Snack–1 pack per bag (General Mills Catalina Promo at Kroger)
Green Copy Paper (left over from craft package of paper)
Yellow Ribbon ($0.25 for a full roll at a Yard Sale–3 years ago)

The best part of this project is that I have enough treat bags, ribbon, personalized labels, and gift tags (used only on teacher treat bags) for another set of treat bags to create for 2013. I’ll only need filler items like candy, marshmallows, 0r……..and for these items, there’s always a sale and a coupon that will fill treat bags on a budget.

TIP: As you use materials you have at home, think a year ahead to restock your supply closet. When you see a deal or sale on something you need, restock then. For instance, if I see Halloween treat bags for $0.10 this year on clearance, I’ll add one set to my stash of Halloween treats/supplies! Additionally, when the Vista Print labels appear again, I’ll create Christmas or Valentine labels so that my next project is ready to come together!
