Life With Boys: Thank You Cards

Thank you cards are a lost art.

With the digital age and the ever advancing technology, handwritten notes are hardly done any longer. When I was growing up my mom had us write thank you cards after we received gifts. Although I groaned about it then, I am so thankful that my mom taught me this lesson. I am now passing the thank you card lesson on to my boys.

Capt. M celebrated his birthday a few weeks ago. We are a little behind in the thank you card process but part of that was due to waiting on the custom cards to arrive. I took advantage of the free thank you card offer from Tiny Prints a couple of weeks ago! Now that we have the cards, Capt. M is starting the process.

Since Capt. M is still working on his handwriting skills, the cards will take a few days to complete. He is writing his own messages and even including some art work! I sit patiently trying to guide his spelling and reminding him to leave a space between his words. Since his handwriting is in need of improvement, this is a great exercise!

Hopefully by Christmas, we will have the art of a thank you card down pat!

Do you have your children send thank you cards?
