Are you looking for APPS for your child(ren) to enjoy this fall? I’m gathering my list and checking it twice to make sure that my four year old has the best apps available on her iPad! I want to make sure that she’s learning as she clicks. I don’t want her iPad time to take away from social affairs, reading books, enjoying crafts, pretend play………
So as I try to balance what apps to purchase/download, I’m looking for advice from other parents and media. Today, I found this “App Pick” in Working Mother’s magazine. It’s noted as being “inspired by Herve Tullet’s international best-selling picture book, Press Here: The App offers 15 visually rich games using brightly colored dots that blink, collide, and multiply. Kids will love exploring the endless possibilities in each open-ended and highly intuitive activity. Ideal for small hands, too (ages 4 and up; $2 for the iPad, iPhone, & iPod Touch; itunes.com).” Just search for Press Here on iTunes to find the app.
I’m not familiar with Tullet’s picture book but I’m sure I’ll soon find everything I need to know about it on Amazon.com! Additionally, for the $2 app, my toddler & I will soon discover the visually rich games—–does my toddler need this? Of course! She does.
When her new teacher asked her to pick out her name on her cubbie today, she was visually challenged to find it! Her name was in a new place. We had just walked in the new classroom and there were two other names that visually looked like her name, Sophia. One was Shiloh. The other Samuel. As I asked her, “Are you sure?” She said, “Yes!” because all of these names began with “S”. When I asked her to touch each letter and spell her name against the name she was pointing to, she quickly caught her error! Visual learning!
Now, let’s see what this app will teach us; because I’m eager to unearth all the apps that add learning value to her day (with smidgets of fun)!

Thanks for this post. I bought the book on amazon and my son loves it. We bought the app yesterday. It was 99 cents. He played with it for an hour straight last night. He’s almost 4.
Hi Kristine,
I am so glad your son liked this app! I will share more if I find them!
