Are you always watching your food intake as I am? Before clearing my plate and/or finishing anything I wanted to eat, I try to ask myself if the flavor is worth the calories. Most of the time, I can say yes! But there are many times, one little taste is all it takes to say, “I don’t really want this ______!” Thus, I can stop eating it and save my calories for flavorful food and hopefully for super foods that are good for my body.
I loved this acronym FAST & LEAN that I found in one of my magazines this summer. If you need some healthy inspiration for super foods for the week, steal this acronym yourself. It will help you focus on foods that help boost your metabolism:
FAST & LEAN
Fiber-rich grains
Avocados, oils, & other healthy fats
Spinach, leafy greens and other vegetables
Turkey and other lean meats
Legumes
Eggs and dairy
Apples and other fruits
Nuts & Seeds
This Women’s Health Diet acronym is bound to make us both mindful of what we are eating. For me, its worth the energy to eat well so that in thirty years from now, I’m healthier than I can envision being. I want to be FAST & LEAN when I’m sixty-seven!
