The goal of Thirsty Thursday is to find good and cheap wines for under $10. My friend Ann has been talking about her love for Moscato. I finally gave it a try and love it!
I tried the Gallo Family Vineyards Moscato this week. Moscato is a sweet wine- perfect for dessert. The description on the bottle says “delicious flavors of peach, honey and ripe citrus”. I can easily taste all of those flavors. It is not very often that I can pick out the listed flavors on the first sip. Usually I have to concentrate and really try to separate out the taste. Not with this Moscato- their description is right on.
Gallo Moscato is very pale yellow in color- almost clear. It is easy to drink and smooth. Compared to some of the other wines I have been tasting, it has a lower percentage of alcohol at 9.5%. The best thing about this delicious wine, I only paid $4.19 for the bottle at Kroger! That is a steal; I will definitely be buying it again.
If you are new to drinking wine and like a sweet drink, I would recommend giving Gallo Moscato a try!
As always, make sure you drink responsibly.

I discovered Moscato recently also and love it!! I started with the Barefoot because I saw it on sale. This week, I got three or four more different brands – this being one. I haven’t tried this one yet, but am eager to now that I have read this review!
I did try the Sutter Home Moscato and it was really good. I found it on sale at Price Chopper for $4.99. Yummmmy! I will definitely be getting it again. I usually like Reisling, but I think Moscato is my new fave.
Hi Rachel,
This was actually the first time I tried Moscato. I am usually a red wine drinker. I am glad I tried it though- it was really good! I will have to try the Barefoot wine sometime. Thanks!
