The majority of the time, we as consumers, buy a product, use it and life ventures forth.

However, there are those few times when products just don’t measure up to your satisfaction. For instance, several months ago, my toddler & I opened up a pack of M&M’s to discover they were broken and dry, dry, dry! Even for chocolate lovers, we just couldn’t consume the little chocolate M&M’s. I called the 1-800 # that was on the back of the package and reported this pack of M&M’s to corporate. The representative asked me to read the UPC code on the package, etc. She also asked me if I had other bags from the same location. We did. Thus, I opened those bags and they were dry and broken too. We tossed all the packages of M&M’s that were not to our satisfaction. The representative mailed us coupons for new packages of M&M’s (enough to share with others in the store)!

More recently, I was cleaning with a bottle of Clorox Toilet Bowl cleaner. It leaked everywhere! Unfortunately, not before it ruined a few of my workout tops/bottoms and one of my toddler’s shirts because I had not realized the leaking bleach was dripping. We were careful how we used the rest of the product and I was thankful to toss the empty bottle. BUT—–my coupon savings had encouraged me to buy other bottles of Clorox that were in my cleaning stockpile. When I opened the next bottle, it was faulty too. This past week, I contacted Clorox via facebook. I realized others were having the same issue. An email was sent to the company with the name of the product and UPC number. Coupons will arrive in a few days to compensate for these faulty products!

It pays off to communicate with companies! Additionally, when you are super pleased with a product, I want to encourage you to send a little note of thanks to the company via facebook since most companies have facebook pages now! Your feedback is important in providing us the best products in world.
