This recent Snapple coupon reminded me of my “GREEN” vase creations last spring for my daughter’s third birthday party. Although I don’t have a close up picture of the vases to share with everyone, I posted a snapshot of the birthday fruit table. The vases were scattered about on the birthday girl’s tables.
After drinking our Snapple tea bottles last spring, I recycled them for this project because her initial was “S”! I printed snapshots of my little girl throughout the year to share with her birthday guests. We cropped the 4×6 pictures from Shutterfly into smaller photos for easier displaying. Next, I hot glued the snapshots onto the glass tea bottles. Afterward, I set the bottles aside until the day of the birthday party. That morning, I filled the bottles with water and added a few drops of food coloring into the bottles so that her pictures on the bottles would stand out more! Next, we clipped our spring flowers from around our house and placed them in the bottles. Ta-Da! They were perfect to accentuate her party décor outside in our front yard! Upon clean up, I simply tossed the bottles in the trash can rather than saving them since the project was easy to recreate any time.
When I finished my first bottle of Snapple this year, I reminisced upon the “S” raised in the glass bottle and wondered if I could recreate this idea! That’s when I remembered Renae’s decoupage idea from last week. If your initial matches Snapple’s “S”, save these tea bottles for your own green project. My case of Snapple bottle lids will be decoupaged per Renae’s instructions from her recycled glass jars project. Next, I will fill the glass jars with cotton balls, buttons, paperclips, rubber bands, etc. I’ll display them on my daughter’s playroom shelves for impromptu craft project items!
