Ways to Save: Stockpile the Gift Closet

Many stores are having huge clearance events right now. To save the most on gifts, I usually take advantage of end of season and after Christmas sales. I have a “gift closet” that I keep items in for upcoming birthdays and special events. I also start shopping for next Christmas now.

Take a few minutes and write down upcoming birthdays. Start planning who you need to buy for and when you need the gift. When you are out shopping, look for good deals in the clearance section that can be used for people on your list. Taking advantage of clearance items always allows me to buy more for people.

I also buy items that I don’t necessarily have an exact person in mind for giving it too. When I find an item at a great price, I buy it for future emergency gifts. These gifts are really helpful when your child has a last minute party to attend or when you forget about a person on your birthday list.

Make sure to write down what items you have in your gift closet and who they are for. I am famous for forgetting!
