For those of you that follow How to Have it All on facebook, you already know our home flooded yesterday. I wanted to give you all an update since I won’t be online as much over the coming days.
We had a pipe burst in the jacuzzi tub in our upstairs bathroom. When it broke, a geyser appeared. Unfortunately we were not home at the time. Every room in out house has water damage. It is truly amazing how quickly water can spread through a home. When hubby arrived home he found water running from the kitchen lights and about a 1/2″ of standing water on the first floor. He found the geyser in the upstairs bathroom- water hitting the ceiling.
Needless to say, we have a big mess!
Our house will have suction mats, hoses, high power fans and dehumidifiers for at least he next five days as it dries out from it’s bath. Hubby and I slept here last night and it is very loud. You can’t even have a conversation without yelling. We will be looking for somewhere to stay for the next few days as soon as we talk to our insurance.
Oh, and did I mention my lovely stockpile was ruined too? Yes, sadly all of the work I did two weekends ago to organize is drenched.
Even though we are stressed and upset, we have so much to be thankful for. It could have been worse- it always could be worse.
Litsa is going to help me with posts over the next few days and some of my friends will be guest posting. I am just not sure what life will be like in the next few weeks as our house is torn apart.
Thoughts and prayers are much appreciated!
