It’s that time of year when we must rethink sun care for the entire family! Sunglasses, bathing suits, lotions, cover-ups, hats, and more……
Last month, I lost my prescription sunglasses and I was quickly reminded that I NEEDED them to protect my eyes when I walk/run, drive, play in the yard with my daughter, etc. I was squinting and my eyes were super sensitive to the sun! This also made me think about our yearly summer vacation plans of traveling to Greece! Even my beloved prescription sunglasses need an extra layer of coverage under the Mediterranean sun!?!
On Easter Sunday, we enjoyed four or more hours outdoors under the warming rays of the sun! I didn’t apply sunscreen to my daughter’s arms or face! Her reddened face and sun sensitive skin served as reminders that suncreen is a must! The itchy, red blotchy arms for two straight days remained. This could have easily been prevented! Again, this scenario reminded me of her sensitivity to the sun in Greece last summer. After two hours on the beach, she was frying! Thus, a traditional bathing suit is not an option for this summer.
